Your adventure begins with a scenic journey from Arusha or Karatu into the world-famous Serengeti National Park, home to endless plains, abundant wildlife, and iconic African landscapes. Upon entering the park, enjoy your first thrilling game drive in Central Serengeti, an area renowned for high concentrations of lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, and plains game, setting the tone for an unforgettable Tanzania safari experience.
Today you follow the natural path of the Great Wildebeest Migration as you travel north across the vast Serengeti ecosystem. This long but rewarding safari drive offers continuous wildlife viewing, changing scenery, and fewer crowds as you reach the remote Northern Serengeti. The day ends near the Mara River, where massive herds gather in preparation for the dramatic river crossings.
This day is dedicated entirely to the Mara River, the most dramatic stage of the Great Migration in Tanzania. Spend hours exploring riverbanks where wildebeest and zebras hesitate before plunging into crocodile-infested waters. With expert guidance and patience, you may witness one of nature’s most powerful spectacles, along with predators such as lions, hyenas, and leopards that follow the migration closely.
After an early morning safari in the Northern Serengeti, begin the journey back toward Central Serengeti with game drives en route. This day offers excellent opportunities to spot big cats, large herbivore herds, and dramatic landscapes as the migration continues its timeless cycle across the Serengeti plains.
Enjoy a final early morning game drive as the Serengeti awakens in golden light, when predators return from the hunt and the plains are alive with movement.
